Dr. K. Karpagaselvi is Professor and Head of the Department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology, with more than 29 years of experience in teaching, clinical practice, and research. She completed her BDS and MDS in Oral Pathology and Microbiology from Government Dental College and Hospital, Ahmedabad.
She is a recognized RGUHS postgraduate guide since 2010 and Ph.D. guide since 2016. She is a Fellow of the Indian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and the Indian Board of Forensic Odontology.
She has numerous publications and has presented research at national and international conferences. She has served as an invited speaker, panelist, moderator, reviewer, and scientific committee member in various academic programmes. Her academic contributions include research in oral pathology, oral cancer, potentially malignant disorders, odontogenic lesions, and diagnostic oral pathology. She has also been actively involved in undergraduate research mentorship, with students receiving RGUHS research grants and ICMR Short-Term Studentships under her guidance.
She serves as a reviewer for peer-reviewed journals and has contributed to institutional academic and research activities. She has been appointed as Member Secretary and Basic Scientist of the Vydehi Institutional Ethics Committee and as a member of the Advisory Board of the Bangalore Society of Oral Pathologists for Oral Cancer.
