REPORT ON ANTIRAGGING ORIENTATION WORKSHOP
Anti-Ragging Orientation workshop was held at Vydehi Institute of Dental Sciences & Research Centre (VIDS) on 19/07/22. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Suresh, Member, Dental Council of India. The workshop was inaugurated by our chief guest Dr. Suresh BS, Member, DCI, Dr. Mohan Thomas Nainan, Principal, VIDS &RC, Dr Suresh Menon, Scientific committee Head, Dr. Nirupama, DAO, VIDS&RC, Dr. Jagadish, Boy’s Hostel warden and Dr. Betty, Girl’s Hostel Warden.
Dr Mohan Thomas Nainan, Principal welcomed the gathering by briefing on various Anti-Ragging measures implemented and monitored in the institute. The workshop was attended by all the epartment HODs, Faculty, First year BDS students and First year MDS students.
Prof. Dr Suresh BS, Member, Dental Council of India & Member, Faculty of Dentistry, RGUHS was invited guest Speaker. He enlightened the first BDS & first MDS students on various measures taken against ragging in health science institutes.
Dr Jagadish, Boy’s Hostel warden, VIDS & RC spoke about the Anti-Ragging response by the institute such as the rules by the institute as per the guidelines of Supreme Court of India, UGC, DCI, RGUHS & VIDS. He also educated the students by displaying UGC mandated videos.
Dr Suresh Menon, Scientific Committee Head, delivered the instructions regarding the Anti-Ragging measures to be followed by students in the institute. He also informed about the Anti -Ragging committee members where the students can report grievances to the members without any kind of reluctance.
