Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics

Overview

The Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics is concerned with the treatment of diseases and defects of hard tissues of teeth, specifically the restoration of the form, function and esthetics of those hard tissues. It also includes cosmetic and esthetic correction of teeth. Endodontics deals with root canal treatment, endodontic surgery and related treatments. In the present era, the world emphasis is on preservation with precision; hence these two specialities play a vital role in saving the natural tooth Of the Total OPD coming to Vydehi Institute of Dental Sciences & Research Centre, 80% report to the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics for diagnosis and treatment of dental caries, tooth pain, food lodgement in tooth, tooth sensitivity, discoloured teeth, aesthetic restorations and root canal treatment.

The Department of Conservative dentistry has grown in leaps and bounds since the inception of the dental college in 2003. The MDS course in department started  in 2009 and is successfully. 

The Department is one of the largest in the college and sprawls over almost 8000 square feet.
