Cultural Events

Cultural Events at VIDS & RC:

The Institution mainly focuses on academics at the same time facilitates sustenance of innate talent and aptitude of the students by encouraging them to participate in various activities which are conducted as part of festivals and national days.

Cultural Society:

 In order to increase the student participation in cultural activities the Cultural Society has been formed. Students who have passion for singing, dancing are identified and nominated as members of the cultural society. These students are responsible for organising cultural activities

During the celebration of various days of national importance cultural events are conducted. Singing, Dancing, Mimicry, Drama are the few of them. These events help the students to overcome their inhibitions and stage fear so that they can acquire leadership qualities. Dancing teaches them the importance of team work.

CULTURAL EVENTS- 2023

The much-awaited annual College cultural events took place on February 2023 at Sai Keshava Auditorium. The event was a spectacular celebration of talent, cultural diversity, and unity within the college community. The days were filled with a plethora of activities and performances that showcased the vibrancy and talents of the students of our college.

The events commenced with a grand inauguration ceremony, graced by our Principal, Dr. Mohan Thomas Nainan and other esteemed faculty members. The lighting of the lamp symbolized the enlightenment and knowledge that the college imparts to its students.

The cultural segment of the event was a kaleidoscope of talent, featuring mesmerizing dance performances and soulful music renditions. Students as well as faculty from various departments came together to create performances that celebrated the diversity of cultures and traditions and well as maintaining the spirit of a healthy competition. The fashion show segment was a visual treat, with students strutting the runway in creatively designed outfits.

The College cultural event came to a close with a heartfelt vote of thanks to all the participants, sponsors, faculty, and volunteers who made the event a grand success. The students were awarded certificates and prizes for all the events conducted. The event not only brought the college community together but also showcased the immense potential and talent within the student body. It was a day filled with joy, laughter, and memories that will be cherished for years to come.

SPORTS DAY 2023

The sports day featured a diverse array of events .These included track and field events such as sprint, race, long jump etc. Additionally, team sports such as Cricket, Throwball, Volleyball etc. Were organized. Students participated in these events with energy and determination, showcasing their skills and competitive spirit.

Students and faculty were divided into different houses fostering a healthy sense of competition. Points were awarded based on individual and team performances, ultimately contributing to house championship. A light hearted and entertaining segment were the staff  participated in friendly races, creating movements of joy.

The events success can be attributed to the collective efforts of the staff, volunteers and participants who worked tirelessly to ensure its smooth execution. Overall, the annual sports day was a resounding success, showcasing the colleges commitment to holistic development and the importance of healthy and active lifestyle.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION

The Christmas celebration at Vydehi Institute of Dental Sciences and Research Centre, was an unforgettable event that brought together the college community in a spirit of joy, unity, and compassion. The performances, decorations, and heartwarming moments reminded everyone of the true meaning of Christmas. The event not only added to the festive cheer but also highlighted the college’s commitment to fostering a sense of togetherness and giving back to society.

ONAM CELEBRATIONS

Vydehi Institute of Dental Sciences and Research Centre, embraced the vibrant spirit of Onam with an exuberant celebration that brought together students, faculty, and staff in a festive atmosphere. The event aimed not only to commemorate the rich cultural heritage of Kerala but also to promote unity, diversity, and a sense of community among the college populace.

The college campus was adorned with colorful floral arrangements, traditional lamps, and intricate Pookalam (floral carpet) designs. The vibrant and artistic decorations set the perfect stage for the festivities, creating an immersive and joyful environment.

The Onam celebration featured a diverse array of cultural performances that showcased the talent and enthusiasm of students.The participants, dressed in traditional Kerala attire, added authenticity and charm to the cultural extravaganza.

The Onam celebrationwas a resounding success, bringing together students from various backgrounds to celebrate the rich cultural tapestry of Kerala. The event not only showcased the talent and creativity of the college community but also reinforced the values of unity, diversity, and cultural appreciation. As the festivities came to an end, the echoes of laughter, the aroma of delicious food, and the memories of vibrant cultural performances lingered, creating a lasting impression on everyone who attended the celebration.
